We welcome all into the Communion of Christ

About Us

We at Bethesda United Methodist Church are a small but active congregation.  We have two Sunday services, one at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.  Our adult Sunday School class meets at 9:30 a.m.  We have a "pick-up" choir which sings four Sundays a year.

Our church is actively involved in missions as well as the local community.  We have an active Prayer Chain.  Church members do volunteer work at Hamilton Elementary/Middle school in Baltimore and donate school supplies for the children. Bethesda members also volunteer at the Faith Community Food Bank. We support foreign missionaries in Nicaragua, as well as several programs to help impoverished people locally, including long-standing food-donation projects with both the United Methodist Church of the Deaf (in Glen Burnie, MD), and United Methodist Community Services (at Faith UMC).

Our facility is used to house a children's day-care program and two long-standing rehabilitation support groups (N.A. and A.A.), that minister to many  non-members in Northeast Baltimore.  We regularly donate to Manna House (which serves homeless people), and to the Fuel Fund managed by St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church (near Lake Montebello).

Bethesda Is a Reconciling Congregation, guided by the following statement:  "Believing we are called to welcome all into the Communion Of Christ, we will encourage and support the inclusion of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender persons in all areas of our congregation, our denomination, the larger religious fellowship, and society as a whole."

WE INVITE YOU TO BECOME A PART OF OUR BETHESDA CHURCH FAMILY!
